CTV’s Toy Mountain is coming to Whitby, and the Library is ready to get festive!

We have a big night planned at the Central Library on Tuesday, December 9 that you won’t want to miss! Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Cozy Toes campaign, CTV’s beloved Toy Mountain is set to make Whitby its holiday home this season.

Whitby Mayor Elizabeth Roy launched Operation Cozy Toes last year to collect new socks for people experiencing homelessness. It was a major success with the community donating hundreds of warm socks that were gratefully accepted by outreach workers. As part of Operation Toy Mountain this year, you can also donate new, unwrapped toys at any of the Library’s three locations in addition to several other locations. The Salvation Army will distribute the toys to local families in need.

Join us on December 9 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. as the Library wraps up Toy Mountain and Operation Cozy Toes with an evening full of family-friendly fun! Drop in for the live CTV broadcast, music, hot chocolate, and festive programming including:

5:00-5:30: Storytime with Santa’s Helper

5:00-7:00: Christmas Crafting Corner

5:00-7:00: Christmas Family Portraits

5:00-7:00: Holiday Scavenger Hunt

6:30-7:00: Mrs. Claus Storytime

It promises to be a special evening full of fun and festive celebrations. Together we can make a difference for our community.
